Sharanalaya was conceived and founded by Mrs. G. Manju Venkat to fulfill her dream of reaching out to as many children as possible and to make a difference in each of their lives.
The passion she has for serving children has gathered many kindred souls along the way.Initially, the school started with 2 children in March 2001, and then the strength had steadily risen to 200.
The undying thirst to serve children across ages has given birth to the new venture in Akkarai.

The school is backed by Mallika Gunasekaran Educational and Charitable trust, an organization which has a deep commitment toward helping the children realize and accentuate their own potential. Established in the year 2001, our school is an accredited Montessori School by Indian Montessori centre (IMC).

Sharanalaya was a dream 18 years ago, a dream to reach out to as many children as possible and make a difference in each one of their lives. This idea was so passionate that soon Sharanalaya began to take concrete form. Started in the year 2001, with just 2 children, we have progressed in a matter of 18 years. Sharanalaya started primary environments for 2-6 years age group, elementary environments for 6-12 years age group and High School for Grade 7 and above under ICSE board.
Sharanalaya functions our of a spacious premises and the interiors are aesthetically designed to provide a safe haven for children. Taking into consideration the concern of parents, great emphasis is given to the safety aspect.
