School is cool…

Especially when there are trips to children’s bookstores! Last week, around 40 students of Sharanalaya Montessori School in Chennai, escorted by author-storyteller Praba Ram, dropped by for one exciting ‘field trip’. They browsed, read, chose and bought books all by themselves, with no adult interference. What an innovative way to get kids hooked to books! For several, this was their first trip ever to any bookstore. And since they could pick any book, some little ones were even seen with our YA thriller, WHO?— for their fathers, they explained. “Super bookstore!” and “Best field trip!” were the buzzwords overheard!
